There's an article in progress that goes along with the presentation I mentioned, here (hosted for now on the wiki of Let's Manga, another project I'm working on).
I'm supposed to finish this and translate it to Japanese by the end of next month, which will be impossible since everyone in Leuven is busy organizing this workshop. Oh well, it'll figure itself out. Looking forward to that workshop, in spite of all the marvelously unexciting preparations. The sister workshop last month, where that presentation was given, turned out to be rather more interesting than expected, mainly because the nice and clever people over at Kansai University gave me truckloads of interesting comments and gently corrected some grossly mistaken assumptions. It was quite inspiring, all in all. The same nice people are visiting us this time and will join us in a panel on the different ways in which the manga 'One Piece' is interpreted by Japanese and Western readers, among other fun activities.
