It worries me that the importance of Legal doesn't seem to come across very well a lot of the time. AO3 is an awesome tool that contributes hugely to the org's goals. (It also gives me hours of posting and reading joy.) I have nothing but love for it and the role that it plays, but *puts on activist hat* it would be nice if people were made a bit more aware of how important it is as a tool to empower fans, not just as a great archive. I'm concerned that that message is being put on the back burner a bit too much.

See the premature code push -it adds wonderful features that give users more power to modify the archive, but that aspect of the overhaul got completely lost as the improvements were hurried out for the sake of Yuletide. I don't know all the details, but this looks like such a huge missed opportunity for the AO3 to get people enthused about modifying things.
