It's reassuring all by itself that he's taking his old userbase into account like this. If I were a non-fannish Pinboard user, waking up to find the front page tag cloud full of Inception slash would have been a bit disconcerting at the very least. It would be like a fannish bookmarking service that gets a sudden and massive influx from, I don't know, people who concentrate on professional medical bookmarks. (I hesitate to say 'tech people' because I have the vague impression that there's a lot more overlap between the tech-talk set and fandom, with the tech people just being less aware of that than fans.)
